A Tribe Called Quest’s Contribution To Hip-Hop And Culture At Large

This event was held at Harlem Stage at The Gatehouse 150 Convent Avenue New York City, 03/01/2012. Although it was a hip-hop oriented panel, it consisted of diverse participants with varying points of view.
I made it to the discussion a little late but still captured the essence of the night on video. The Q&A was very interesting and the audience had very poignant questions that got interesting answers from the panelists. Particularly, responses from, jazz musician, Igmar Thomas who mentioned that all black music is a product of the peoples’ culture: blues, jazz, soul and hip-hop. Fab 5 also mentioned that Max Roach predicted the growth of hip-hop because he recognized that it was very rhythmic.
